Momos is a collection whose inspiration comes from Brazil, its design from Spain, and its execution in India. The inspiration for its design emerged more than twenty years ago during a trip to northern Brazil, when a curious local textile craft in the state of Maranhão, whose aesthetics recalled butterfly eggs, caught the attention of José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales.
That unique fabric remained in his memory until, with the embroidery experience and skill of our GAN Women Unit artisans, he managed to reinterpret it and transfer it to the design of the Momos collection. The aesthetics of the resulting fabric, with its three-dimensional and fractal texture, also provide a complete sensory experience due to the lightness of its felted wool surfaces.
