Jens Risom
Danish furniture designer Jens Risom is one of the most prominent figures in mid-century modernism. His approach to furniture design – which emphasizes warmth, beauty and simplicity – is of special significance to the Knoll brand; Knoll’s first catalog in 1942 featured 15 pieces by the great Danish furniture designer (including the webbed Risom Chair, an iconic piece of Knoll furniture). Risom’s influence not only shaped the Knoll brand in its infancy, but also, in its development throughout the years. To own a piece of Knoll furniture designed by Jens Risom is to own a piece of history itself.
