When Jonathan Olivares set out to meet the challenge of designing Knoll’s next iconic chair, he used a meticulous approach involving a series of tests and experiments in order to come up with a design that’s neither too simple nor too complicated. Of course, weight and ease of storing were huge factors as well. Materials played a crucial role, as the chair was supposed to be able to withstand harsh weather conditions but still be comfortable and stylish to fit in a contemporary indoor space.
