Hand Knotted
Handmade on a vertical loom on which the wool is fastened firmly to the warp through a knot, Gan’s hand-knotted rugs are genuinely one-of-a-kind. The shape and thickness of the knot differentiate the various kinds of hand-knotted rugs; more knots result in greater definition and a longer-lasting, more valuable rug. This technique allows very detailed designs to be created. The laborious technique of hand-knotting, or hand-knotted, allows for a great profusion of details and a soft and warm finish. Gan’s collection of hand-knotted rugs include Zoe Kubb, Round Mirage, Cobble, Degrade, Mirage, Hidraulic, Waterkeyn, Japan, Índigo, Cirus, Bereber, Dragonfly, and Paysages—ranging from traditional to irregular shapes.
