Coro Furniture

CLIMA HOME proudly represents Coro, a luxury outdoor furniture company internationally acclaimed for its impeccable designs and dedication to quality, was founded in Italy in 2002 with the goal of making a name for itself in the little-developed outdoor furniture design market. Almost immediately, the company was recognized for its overall philosophy, which is based on respect for the environment and the observance of ethical principles. Today, Coro’s collections continue to harmoniously blend new technologies with a mix of traditional and innovative materials inspired by the warmth and color of our natural surroundings.

With the motto “time to live in freedom,” Coro outdoor furniture seeks to interpret design in its purest form with aesthetics that combine ergonomics, usability, innovation, simplicity of construction, social relevance, and environmental sustainability. Each object is its own unique expression of beauty with distinct lightness, minimalist forms, and harmonic proportions. “Our style is mainly based on Italian creativity and culture, marked by eclecticism and global vision,” the brand says. “Coro products are not the result of temporary fashion trends; they are long-lasting recognizable objects.”

Since its inception, Coro has followed a dynamic entrepreneurial strategy based on research and experimentation. As a result, its products – which include outdoor sofas, chairs, chaise lounges, stools, tables, hammocks, and even an outdoor shower – are exceptionally durable, which helps preserve materials, conserve energy, and cause only the most minimal of emissions. Industrial machine tools are used to produce the framework of individual elements, while finishing and assembly are done by hand. Looking toward the future, Coro pledges to remain true to its values while delving even deeper into delivering concepts and solutions that bring together furniture and technology.

History

The story of Coro began with the pioneering concept and an inspired vision to create steel-and metal-based outdoor furniture using sophisticated materials and finishes. The idea was to create outdoor living rooms furnished with the same attention to detail and comfort as those inside the home, enabling people around the world to enjoy more of life’s precious moments together under the open skies. In 2018, Coro was acquired by Fim, a luxury Italian brand known for its superior-quality outdoor umbrellas. Today, the company’s production facilities are still entirely based at its headquarters in Piedmont, Italy.

Designers

Coro’s first collection was envisioned by renowned designer Stefano Gallizioli, who created an outdoor furniture range complete with outdoor seating and even a barbecue grill. In 2006, Gallizioli created Nest, a collection of sofas intended for outdoor use with a variety of elements and dimensions that allowed for unlimited customization options. Gallizioli is also the designer behind the SG1, Fellini, Shot, OBQ OPQ, and Fioriere collections.

Over the years, Coro has also partnered with other esteemed designers, including Italians Ilaria Marelli (Cocotte and Tavolo Rio), Matteo Nunziati (Clea, Sabal, Livis, Boomy, and Tasia), Sergio Brioschi (L3), Riccardo Giovanetti (Sally and Node), and Monica Armani; British designers James Irvine (Zeta) and Gala Wright, daughter of the late Richard Wright of Pink Floyd (Loop); and Australian Danny Venlet (Doccia/Shower).

Materials

All of Coro’s products are capable of withstanding various types of outdoor settings. The basic framework for most Coro products is meticulously fabricated metal (particularly stainless steel) but also iron, brass, and aluminum. Other materials include handwoven PVC nylon cord and natural rope fibers, decorative high-pressure laminate (HPL), and polyurethane foam. Coro is sensitive to sustainable manufacturing techniques; the company channels much of its research and development efforts into discovering innovative materials and developing processes that guarantee an industrial approach that increasingly respects the environment.
