Bover Outdoor Lighting

When it comes to outdoor lighting solutions, Bover transcends functionality, for its pieces are illuminated works of art. Bover’s exterior lighting collections consist of unique and expertly crafted wall lights, floor lights, bollards, lamps, pendants, sconces, chandeliers, and more. And, thanks to their highly decorative look, many of the outdoor collections can easily be placed in interior environments to create a surrounding comfort. In addition to design, their strong durability makes them perfect also for commercial spaces.

The common thread of Bover outdoor collections is their warm and clear light surrounded by organic and delicate shapes. Whether it be synthetic wicker woven into a rounded light reminiscent of a sea urchin, or floral-shaped bollards, Bover’s light fixtures do more than brighten outdoor spaces… they elevate them. In addition, most collections are offered in multiple sizes and finishes to suit a range of exterior environments, from expansive terraces to private gardens to outdoor dining rooms.

Bover lighting is produced entirely in Barcelona, which allows the company to exercise full control over its production chain. As a result, it can ensure excellent quality and appropriate delivery terms to meet market needs. Another distinguishing factor of Bover’s outdoor lighting collection is its “big formats” – large-scale products designed for large exterior spaces like public parks and walkways to offer the optimal maximum lighting performance.

CLIMA Home is ready to help you select the Bover outdoor lighting pieces that perfectly fit the specific needs of your project.

History

Since its inception in 1996, this coveted Spanish designer lighting brand has evolved into one of the world’s leading contemporary lighting companies. As is often the case with design success stories, Bover’s happened unexpectedly; the concept arose from a simple napkin sketch drawn by founder Joana Bover for an architect friend’s project.

Fast-forward 25 years later, and Bover’s eponymous designer lighting brand continues to experience growth and soaring popularity. Despite its presence in countries worldwide – including its own subsidiary in the U.S. – Bover remains true to its founder’s original vision of creating timeless lighting designs balanced with the latest trends and technologies. For Joana, Bover is the result of the professionalism and the concerns of a team of people who live and feel the cultural world surrounding them, and respected designers advocating the creation of dramatic new lighting experiences for the world.

Materials

Bover believes that a successful outdoor product is composed of the right combination of design, quality, and technical development. Its exterior collections always strive to find a balance between quality, material, and shape. Bover understands quality as a fundamental part of a good design, and it thrives on combining artisan methods of production with advanced technologies. Bover Lighting is particularly proud to continue carrying out part of its work manually and investing in traditional craftsmanship. Materials include the highest-quality metals (including iron, brass, aluminum, and stainless steel), wood (such as teak, oak, and beech), synthetic fiber, concrete, glass, leather, and more.

Designers

Led by Joana Bover, the company collaborates with world-renowned designers to continually present fresh and stimulating outdoor lighting designs – all lovingly made in Barcelona – to the rest of the world. Personally, her outdoor collections include Atticus, Marietta, Sisal, and Maxi. Collaborators for the brand’s outdoor collections include:

  • Barcelona-born designers Alex Fernández Camps (Cornet, Elipse, and Mediterrània) and Gonzalo Milà (Moai), who collaborated on several collections, including Amphora, Fora, Garota, and Syra
  • German/Belgian Barcelona-based designer Christophe Mathieu (Platet)
