BD Barcelona
Born in 1972 from a group of daring Barcelona architects and designers, BD Barcelona was created as a rebellion against traditional design norms. From the very beginning, the brand celebrated pure creative freedom — producing original pieces and curating collaborations that redefined modern furniture design.
Early collaborations with visionaries like Álvaro Siza, Ettore Sottsass, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh introduced Spanish craftsmanship to a global audience. Decades later, many of these groundbreaking designs continue to represent BD’s enduring influence on contemporary design culture.
Today, BD Barcelona is guided by a collective that includes Apartamento Magazine, Taller Bofill, Igor Urdampilleta, and founder Oscar Tusquets, all continuing the label’s legacy of independence, innovation, and artistic expression.
